Fun and Money

Une and I got mobile phones today! Korean phones are great, even better than Japanese phones, believe it or not. Most of the phones here are sliders, which is a nice change. Here’s my phone:

It’s about the size of my first mobile phone, the “Nokia 8290″:http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/8290 . It’s crazy how much has changed!

I also bought an English/Korean/Japanese dictionary. It was about a hundred dollars cheaper buying it in Korea than it would have been in Japan.

Tomorrow, Une and I leave her sister’s place and head down to Geoje-do.

Tonight’s dinner - Ja Jang Myun

Something to think about,
There are giant squid, and there are bowls of piping hot magazine articles concerning fashion trends. This is none of them.

  • that badboy probably has a lot of funktionz. i’m just chilling here on a great california day watching the baseball game on the tele. what’s the gooey goo in the bowl (in layman terms)? I’m trying to think about trying to get over there this summer, but hitchiking that far for free might be difficult. overall, how’s the atmosphere there?

  • Let me know what’s up and when something might be possible, so I can inform Brian also.

The sticky stuff in the bowl is a chinese-style noodle dish. It’s kind of like ramen with a sweet-ish black onion sauce over it. It’s really good, but horrid to watch someone else eat. We order it a lot here, with gyoza on the side. By the way, food in Korea is CHEAP!

The overall atmos of the island is really laid back. It’s a sweet deal. The view from our bedroom window is a pure-green mountain side. I’ll take some pictures and post them as soon as I get my camera up and running.
