The Gloaming

Luminaries standing on the horizon, their brilliance more spectacular than the gloaming. Or, maybe it’s the haymaker.

I found a new word today that struck me as ironic. Fustian. It means “pompous or pretentious language.” The irony lies in that the average English speaker doesn’t use the word ‘fustian’, and so the word best describes itself. A person would be creating fustian in using the word ‘fustian’. That’s an excellent idea that I fully support.
