I was enthralled by freerice.com last night. I also learned the term “ovine”, which from here on I will probably rarely, if ever, use again.

I love that site! I always hit a wall though. Do you look up words as you go to keep dishing out rice and getting more archaic words, or do you play from your current vocabulary until you hit the wall? I’m a purist who looks up things after I’ve answered. Fun stuff.

Deas: I just fire up the site and go crazy, and when I see a term that knocks my socks off I try to commit it to my “obscure terms that I feel compelled to use as conversational pieces” long-term memory.
