More earthly movement

I was about to hop in the shower about 30 minutes ago when the ground began to quake again. Once again, the telltale alarm of the wine glasses clinking together started up.

It was a pretty big shake, so I turned on the news as soon as it stopped (I had my daughter in my arms and my wife at my side).

It looks like it was pretty bad. It hit the prefecture directly to the north of us (Miyagi) at an “upper 6″ or “strong 6″ on the Japanese seismic scale of 7 (6強). The news is broadcasting emergency instructions and safety directions at the moment.

It looks like the quake was felt from Hokkaido down to Tokyo. The hospital down the block is going off the hook with sirens, and we’re not even in Miyagi! I hope our neighbors to the north in Miyagi are doing all right.
